As Universal Credit rolls out, the risk of costly duplication among authorities and social landlords is huge. On 7 December, authorities, advice agencies and support projects in pathfinder ‘Full Service’ areas came together to share their experience and ideas to help make the transition smoother as UC rolls out elsewhere. The event was co-hosted by the Social Publishing Project.
Discussion covered the practical challenges of the Universal Credit Full Service from a range of perspectives and the responses made by authorities, advice agencies and support projects. A panel discussion provided time for constructive debate and further questioning, while there was also plenty of time for networking to build new links and help reduce duplicated effort and cost as UC rolls out.
The event, co-hosted by the Central and East London Financial Capability Forum (run by Citizens Advice Southwark) and the Social Publishing Project, was supported by the London Institute of Banking & Finance.
