SPP Wins London Civic Innovation Challenge for Financial Inclusion

We are delighted to have won the Financial Inclusion and Digital Skills challenge at the London Civic Innovation Challenge awards held in City Hall last night.

The award grants SPP £15,000 of funding to scale up the Quids In Readers Club in partnership with Lloyd’s to deliver a three month pilot of the service across London.

Social Publishing Project Managing Director Jeff Mitchell said of the award:

“We’re so pleased to have won the Mayor’s Civic Innovation Challenge award for financial inclusion and digital skills. Now we’ll be working with Lloyds Bank as a partner to develop and grow the Quids In Readers Club, a money email service for people on low incomes.

“Our audience of social tenants, benefit claimants and people suffering in-work poverty are so often talked about but rarely talked to. Not only do our print and digital products share with them advice on getting the most out of banking products and saving money online, the Readers Club will become more interactive, so not only are we talking to them but listening too. They know best what will help get more people making use of the internet and thinking twice about high cost borrowing.”
