Quids in! Receives a ‘Delivery Partner’ Award

Award recognizing community support initiative success at the Teviot Community Centre

On April 24th, housing association Poplar HARCA and developer The Hill Group commended Quids in!, the Money Guidance initiative delivered by Clean Slate Training & Employment, for the achievements of its drop-in service at the Teviot Community Centre in East London. The organisation was honoured with a ‘Delivery Partner’ award for its outstanding contributions to the community.

Thanks to funding from The Hill Group, Quids in! drop-in services are available to local residents at the Teviot Centre, a Poplar HARCA Community Centre. The Hill Group is overseeing the local regeneration project and funds numerous services for the local community, through the Community Chest Fund.

At the drop-in, Quids in! Coaches Chiho Sharp and Nazma Begum assist Teviot residents facing financial and employment challenges through personalised support and resource sharing. The drop-in also features Quids in! Digipods, a laptop IT station where coaches support residents in improving their digital skills.

Jeff Mitchell, Manager Director at Clean Slate Training & Employment says: “While our phone-based services can flex around caring responsibilities and reduce travel costs, local community settings provide the perfect spaces for face-to-face work to support people’s financial wellbeing. These Quids in! centres continue to be well-used and it’s great to be recognised for their much-needed support for local people and their impact on participants’ resilience.”

The ‘Delivery Partner’ awards acknowledges the accomplishments of projects, initiatives, and activities backed by the Community Chest Fund. Notable attendees supporting the event included Councillors Rebecca, Sirjul Islam, Jahed Chowdhury, Ohid Ahmed, and Unmesh Desai, London Assembly Member.
