New Tools To Navigate Welfare

Quids in! Money Guidance launches professional training programme: Navigating the Universal Credit System

On 27th June, Quids in! launches its professional training service with an immersive one-day workshop to help frontline workers navigate the complexities of the Universal Credit (UC) system with their clients.

Delivered by an experienced tutor, the online workshop is designed to support those in the sector working to tackle poverty and hardship. The session is tailored for frontline workers eager to assist benefit claimants in transitioning to, and managing, UC.

The workshop is divided into two sessions with screen breaks provided throughout the day. ‘Mastering the Mechanics,’ focuses on the operational aspects of the UC system, covering application processes, payment schedules, and common challenges faced by claimants. The afternoon session, ‘Practical Solutions in Action,’ focuses on preventative measures to enhance claimants’ financial resilience and reduce their reliance on debt and crisis services.

Quids in! is all about helping people overcome financial hardship and our professional network shares best practice to help us all to continuously improve at this,” says Jeff Mitchell, Managing Director at Quids in!. “It was a natural extension to introduce professional training, especially as our webinars were so well-received over the past year. Anyone who enjoyed those will want this training.”

Quids in! Pro is a network for professionals dedicated to improving the financial wellbeing of low-income households. Managed by Clean Slate Training & Employment CIC, it extends the Quids in! money skills initiative by providing briefings, newsletters, blogs, and research with insights to support service and policy development.
