New Quids in! hybrid service launches with Abergavenny Jobcentre
Clean Slate’s Quids In! Money Guidance service has launched a new 12-week employment support programme in collaboration with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) via the Abergavenny Jobcentre in Monmouth. The initiative is designed to help long-term unemployed individuals in the Monmouth area build the skills, confidence and motivation needed to progress into sustainable employment.
The programme is open to individuals aged 18 and over who are currently out of work and ready to engage in structured support. It offers a flexible delivery model, with in-person, remote and hybrid coaching options available to suit participants’ needs.
The support model focuses on addressing complex barriers to employment through a personalised and holistic approach. One-to-one coaching is supported by optional group sessions, helping participants to build practical employability skills and take realistic steps toward long-term work.
Key features of the programme include:
- A confidential space for open conversation
- Signposting to specialist advice and resources
- CV support and interview preparation
- Budgeting help and financial guidance
- Benefits entitlement checks and better-off calculations
- Access to job opportunities and employability workshops
This marks an important return to Wales for Clean Slate. During the pandemic, DWP-funded remote money guidance projects in Wales, and during this time those who completed the 12 week programme were on average £2,200 better off. Since then, Clean Slate has also delivered hybrid services on the ground in Wales across both Swansea and North Wales.
Referrals are currently being accepted via Abergavenny Jobcentre. The programme is ideal for clients who are long-term unemployed and committed to engaging over a 12-week period.
