The Quids in! Food Guide, is a 32 page magazine which focuses on how readers can manage meals and food on a limited budget. It explains and lists the support and help that is available, describes how budgets can be stretched to keep food on the table, and includes a diverse range of ‘cheap eat’ recipes.
This Food Guide is the Quids in! response to the food poverty crisis. Handouts are essential, but we believe that the underlying causes of poverty need to be addressed too, so that individuals can move away from dependence.
Working directly with people on low incomes over the last 16 years, we have learnt first hand the issues that people face, and have used this information when creating content for this Guide. We know that millions don’t have the means to cook or store food safely. We provide details on obtaining grants for white goods, so that when we talk about batch cooking to save time and money, stocking up for a rainy day, and reducing food waste, this will be relevant as people can store, cook and freeze their meals.
The magazine is packed with ideas and tips that address the hidden reasons why so many people can’t always get by. It explores local and community projects and signposts readers to emergency help that is available.
The Guide leaves readers armed with ideas and information, to help make their lives a little bit easier, and with food on the table.
As with all our products, The Quids in! Food Guide can be bought in bulk and passed on to tenants, clients and those in need.
Regionalised and localised bespoke versions of this Guide can be commissioned on request.
