Quids in! has a special relationship with social landlords, who recognise they are stakeholders in the financial wellbeing of their tenants.
Our money guidance helps tenants maintain control over their financial priorities and the benefits are clear: Fewer rent arrears and fewer evictions, and a saving of all the costs attached to these. Our relationship began from the day Quids in! was launched. It was just a personal finance magazine for low-income social tenants at the time, although we were already in the field of employment support and training.
In 2008, landlords had a regulated responsibility to communicate with tenants and a duty of care for their wellbeing. Since then, we have also developed a range of guides responding to what landlords told us tenants struggle with. An email service shares tips and guidance through the Quids in! Readers Club in partnership with landlords who licence content to share with over 25,000 tenants.
Over time, as the housing landscape changed, we added support, coaching and training to create a Quids in! Money Guidance service. This not only helps participants spend less and bring home more, and address arrears or crisis debt, it provides them with the confidence to take control and increase their independence. We benchmark need and evidence impact, providing our partners with assurance about the service’s value for money.
